“I saw how they were able to communicate their vision and inspire others to join them in achieving their goals. I also saw how they were able to earn the respect and loyalty of their teams through their intelligence, charisma, and servant leadership style,” says Brandi. “As I continue to grow and develop as a leader, I’m always striving to improve my skills and learn from the experiences of others. I’m committed to being a lifelong learner and using my leadership skills to positively impact the world.”
Brandi’s approach to work is defined by a sense of levity, which allows her to maintain a positive outlook and have fun while pursuing her goals. Brandi’s leadership style is empathetic and servant-focused, and she has found it to be highly effective in both the manufacturing and construction industries. “Despite some people viewing this approach as “soft” or ineffective, it is actually rooted in treating people with respect and dignity while building trust among teams,” explains Brandi. “To me, emotional intelligence and self-awareness are crucial in learning and growing from my interactions with others.” Gratitude and grit are also an essential aspect of Brandi’s leadership style. She makes it a point to recognize and celebrate the progress made by her team rather than only focusing on areas that need improvement.
“Unfortunately, my leadership style is not as widely accepted among male leaders. However, I firmly believe that society’s perception of grace and kindness as weaknesses is changing, and more leaders are recognizing the value of this approach,” asserts Brandi. “Leading with empathy and respect does not mean being a pushover. Instead, it reflects a leader’s professionalism and commitment to treating people with the respect they deserve.”
As a leader, Brandi is dedicated to ensuring the professional growth of her team by providing real-time feedback and guidance. By calling team members back on track and acknowledging their successes, she creates an environment of accountability and recognition that inspires her team to excel. Moreover, she goes beyond just providing feedback and recommending books, podcasts, and training to help team members develop and expand their skill sets. “I recognize the importance of annual reviews, but they should never be a substitute for real-time feedback. This approach reflects my commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, which undoubtedly contributes to the success and growth of my team,” says Brandi. As Brandi continues to grow INSTAFAB Company, she also takes on a leadership role on the National Small Business Association’s Leadership Council Advisory Board. She is determined to address the skilled labor shortage crisis plaguing the building trades industry and threatening society’s growth and development. “I am aware that this is a complex issue that requires a holistic approach, and I am committed to advocating for policy changes that will help address this crisis,” she states. “It is my belief that by setting high targets and working tirelessly to achieve them, we can drive real change and create a lasting legacy in our field.”
On the personal front, Brandi is embarking on a journey to pursue her doctorate degree while leading the INSTAFAB Company. “I am passionate about teaching and empowering others to pursue their dreams. I believe in the power of education to unlock potential, and I plan to give back by teaching others what has been taught to me,” elucidates Brandi. “Ultimately, my goal is to pivot towards teaching as I near retirement, or while in retirement. I am excited about what the future holds and look forward to making a positive impact on both professional and personal fronts.”
