Blackwell House: London's New Hub for Empowering Women Leaders

May 8, 2023 : Aspire, a UK-based organization promoting women’s leadership and empowerment, has opened its new home at Blackwell House in London. At a time when women’s rights are under threat worldwide, Aspire and its founder, Dr Sam Collins, are leading the charge for gender equality and female leadership. The organization is driven by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5, which aims to create gender equality and empower all women and girls.

Despite decades of progress, the UN Secretary-General has stated that gender equality is still 300 years away. Recent events, such as the erosion of women’s rights in Afghanistan and increased violence against women in the UK, show that we face a global crisis. Aspire is determined to make a difference by drawing inspiration from the legacy of women who have fought for equality throughout history.

Aspire’s new home is a space for women from all walks of life to gather, share experiences, inspiration and support. Rooms at the facility are named after influential women such as Dame Millicent Fawcett, Dame Leonora Cohen, and Emmeline Pankhurst. The organization aims to empower a new generation of female leaders while honouring the legacy of these trailblazing women.

Dr Sam Collins founded Aspire in 2001 and has dedicated her life to empowering women, coaching and guiding them towards positive change in their personal and professional lives. Her organization has grown into a global network of like-minded women coming together to learn, inspire, and make a difference.

With its new permanent space at Blackwell House, Aspire’s events, workshops, and coaching program will expand, reaching and connecting more women in London and around the world. The organization aims to create a space for women to grow careers, become leaders, and make their voices heard. As Dr Sam Collins said, “Women’s leadership is essential to creating a world where everyone can thrive. We need to unite, build community and act to create a more just and equitable world.”
