Tata Power Renewable Energy Inks Deal for 460MW Clean Energy Project with SJVN

May 6, 2024 : Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and SJVN Limited have signed a significant agreement to develop a 460 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. This collaboration signifies a major step forward in advancing the availability of reliable renewable energy in India.
The project, designed to meet FDRE’s specific requirements, will utilize a combination of solar, wind, and battery storage technologies. This integration allows for continuous energy dispatch even during peak demand periods, enhancing grid stability and ensuring a more dependable power supply.
This partnership can potentially contribute significantly to India’s ambitious renewable energy goals. The project is expected to generate nearly 3,000 million units (MUs) of clean power annually while offsetting approximately 2,200 million kilograms of CO2 emissions.
Commenting on the collaboration, Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of TPREL, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership. He stated that this initiative “will witness the deployment of sustainable energy solutions from TPREL” and support SJVN’s green energy objectives.
With the addition of this project, TPREL’s total renewable energy capacity reaches 9,421 MW, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the Indian renewable energy sector. This development also underscores the growing momentum behind clean energy solutions within the country.
The successful execution of this project will likely serve as a model for future collaborations within the renewable energy landscape, potentially paving the way for a more sustainable and secure energy future for India.
